Students of all ages and abilities, from the raw beginner to the advanced diploma student are welcome here as I have a wealth of experience in all these areas.

Student successes include achieving music scholarships at Bede’s and Eastbourne College and going on to study music in higher education, including at Cambridge University.

Many of my students perform at concerts and festivals. I have an excellent pass rate in entering my piano and vocal students for graded exams with well over 100 successes to date. Importantly, my students thoroughly enjoy their lessons.

I was until recently keyboard tutor at Leeds College of Music for some years where I was interviewed about my work by Pianist Magazine.

Writing

As part of a song writing duo Baker Cowan I have co-written 4 albums. Our work has been performed on TV including Castle In The Country (BBC2) and at theatres around the UK. We wrote the dark musical ‘The Fallen Angel Show’ which we took to the Edinburgh Festival in 2015. The Fringe Review said it was a ‘magical hour of musical theatre’. We also wrote the musical play ‘Really Really Want’ which enjoyed a successful run at York Theatre Royal in November 2016 and at Komedia, Brighton, 2018.
